I’ve always liked the music to Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow, probably because I enjoy Baroque (JS Bach era) music so much. The downside is that there is only one verse to the text, so I found the meter (the back of the LDS hymnal is quite useful that way), and started looking at hymns with the same meter. There were quite a few of them, but I wanted one whose text would work well with it. When I came across Great King of Heaven, I was very happy, especially with the end of the last verse, “With myriad echoes, praise the Lord.” I thought it led perfectly into Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow since each line begins with “Praise…”
This is scored for men’s chorus or quartet. The first verse is unison and I envisioned it being sung in more of a free form, almost like a Gregorian chant. I hope you enjoy it!
